TIPS:

It will make washing your hair in the beginning stages a more delicate process for sure, so be prepared for extra backcombing. If you choose to start them this way, just remember using the Locs N Locks Gel on dry hair will leave your backcombed locks a little tacky, and it will flake when it dries. You can avoid this by spraying a little water into your locks and applying gel onto damp hair. Not too much water, you don't want to disturb your backcombing.

Too much gel, using gel on dry hair and exposing gel to too much heat (ie: from a hair dryer) can cause flakiness. This doesn't mean you shouldn't use a blow-dryer at all, just keep it on a low setting.

In the beginning, your twists may unravel at the ends, so it is important to always maintain the locks from root to ends. After shampooing with shampoo and protein conditioner, towel dry. For starting locks, apply to damp section hair. Place the comb in the section and use fingertips or palm rolling technique to twist new growth clockwise to form a coil. Use a clip to hold the section in place. Locs N Locks Gel also stops frizz.

When using it to start locks, it must be reapplied every time you wet your hair,
1. Section your locks so retwisting is easier.
2. Spritz your locks with water spray to keep them.
3. Apply a dime-size amount of the gel on your finer tips to distribute throughout your lock as you retwist. Retwist each locks by combining the products wit your retwisting technique. You may use your fingers to palm roll or use a locking tool to crochet/interlock.

Daily use: After shampooing and protein conditioner, towel dry. Apply generous amount to the root and new growth and twist with fingers or a small comb. Also the palm roll technique can be used on more advanced locks. Apply on all locks. Continue throughout the entire head. Once complete, Sit under a hair dryer for 20 minutes after locking is complete.

As a styling gel: Use on wet, damp or dry natural hair to define curl patterns and control frizz. Use on transitioning and chemically processed hair to slick back or into an up-do.

Popularly used as a edge control gel for laying baby hairs and slaying sleek styles, it also works for defining your texture.
